Dovetails in Nassau

While strolling through the streets of Nassau this small cottage called out to me.

Was it the painted clap boards, the shutters on the door and windows, or the large eve that have kept the weather out for decades.

Then it hit me. None of the above, it was the dovetailed flower box.  After years of exposure to the elements the joints were still tight.  No short cuts here.  The trim carpenter took his time and did it right the first time.
